Harmonizing Futures Unites Music and Education at The Lincoln Center

Celebrated artist and youth advocate Syreeta “Trumpet Lady” Thompson recently hosted Harmonizing Futures, a private event dedicated to advancing arts and education opportunities and accessibility for young girls. This VIP event took place in New York City at the elegant Lincoln Ristorante adjacent to the prestigious Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. The ambience of the event was more than successful with a sold out group of attendees enjoying an evening of live music and mentions overlooking the Metropolitan Opera House and David Geffen Hall in Time Square. This arts-based event marked a groundbreaking milestone as the first event of its kind by a woman of color hosted on the prestigious grounds of Lincoln Center.
The program consisted of presentations of awards and mentions in relation to the Trumpet Lady Scholarship established by the Grammy Museum in recognition of Syreeta Trumpet Lady Thompson. The event also celebrated her philanthropic commitment in donating instruments to the St. Katherine Drexel Preparatory School
for Girls.
During the program, Ella Warden was honored as the inaugural recipient of the Trumpet Lady Scholarship by Syreeta "Trumpet Lady" Thompson. Warden shared her gratitude to Thompson creating a heartfelt moment during the event as she shared her story about her passion for music. This was a poignant moment that reflected the purpose of the first of its kind scholarship to support girls in music.
Speakers included Arin Canbolat, Vice President of Education at the Grammy Museum. Canbolat congratulated Thompson on her exemplary leadership and vision for youth and the arts. He also highlighted the importance of the Grammy Camp program that also shapes future generations of musicians. Attendees were given a surprise performance by Syreeta "Trumpet Lady" Thompson herself during this special event highlighting an evening filled with the celebration of artistry and advocacy.
